    An RFID warehouse robot

    RFID is one of the latest trend in the industry. Its potential application can range from warehouse to library management. This project is aimed to build an autonomous robot with RFID application. The project integrates RFID reader and PIC microcontroller as the main components. The movement control comprises servo-motor with infrared sensors for the line follower. The whole programming operation was carried out by assembly language using MPLab 7.3. The robot has the ability to identify the items by reading the tag on the items. The robot will pick up the item and navigate to prescribed destination using line follower module to store the item at the appropriate place and location. A small white platform with black line is built for demonstration and testing

    Bluetooth-based alarm system

    This paper proposes the implementation and the advantage of Bluetooth technology on wireless alarm system.The system is realized using a microcontroller PIC16F877A and MPLab IDE software as the control block to link between input and output signals. This paper is using both Bluetooth adapter and Bluetooth module to manipulate the command given to the system.In fact, the traditional 32-bit alarm security system seems dwarfed by this wireless alarm system due to its high security, more user-friendly and lower-cost.Moreover, this wireless technology could operate within a distance of up to 10m independent of line of sight even with obstacles in between.The result shows the wireless system could control intended output with no trouble within specified distance. Hence, it is concluded that the system works effectively with more improvement over the conventional system

    Seni mushaf pada Al-Quran Malaysia sangat unggul dengan menampilkan seni iluminasi yang berlandaskan ciri-ciri Seni Islam namun ianya bukan sekadar hiasan yang indah semata-mata tetapi sebagai rekaan iluminasi yang mempunyai maknanya yang tersendiri, bercirikan adat budaya tempatan serta mengetengahkan identiti tempatan. Hiasan yang digunakan dalam Al-Quran Mushaf Malaysia sebenarnya boleh dikembangkan dalam pelbagai bentuk. Tujuan kajian ini dilaksanakan adalah untuk mengkaji penggunaan unsur motif dan corak yang dijadikan sebagai rujukan rekaan pada ilumininasi Al-Quran Mushaf Malaysia. Di samping itu, kajian ini juga bertujuan mencadangkan corak dan motif pada iluminasi Al-Quran Mushaf Malaysia yang berpotensi untuk dimajukan di dalam pelbagai bidang seperti senibina, seni hiasan dan senireka grafik. Illuminasi Al-Quran Mushaf Malaysia bukan sahaja gah di dalam bidang penerbitan malahan ianya berpotensi besar untuk dimajukan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menjadikan pemerhatian sebagai kaedah mendapatkan informasi, pengumpulan kajian visual, eksperimen rekaan dan temubual. Motif digunakan sebagai ragam hias seni iluminasi boleh digunakan dan berpotensi untuk diaplikasikan sebagai hiasan pada senibina Islam seperti pada bangunan. Selain itu ianya berpotensi juga sebagai seni hiasan dalaman mahupun lanskap yang mana berperanan di dalam mengindahkan sesuatu tempat mahupun kawasan. Illuminasi Al-Quran Mushaf Malaysia juga boleh dikembangkan di dalam bidang senireka grafik seperti ianya boleh dizahirkan pada papan tanda tunjuk arah di kawasan awam mahupun di dalam bangunan-bangunan kerajaan. Di dalam bidang senireka grafik, corak atau motif illuminasai Al-Quran Mushaf Malaysia juga boleh diinspirasikan sebagai rekaan unik pada bidang pembungkusan produk. Kesimpulannya, penerapan seni mushaf yang dilihat berpontesi besar untuk dimajukan akan dapat membentuk satu identiti yang unik dan mencerminkan budaya Melayu Islam dan seterusnya ianya dapat memartabat seni warisan Islam dipersada Dunia

    Smart Cane: Assistive Cane for Visually-impaired People

    This paper reports on a study that helps visually-impaired people to walk more confidently. The study hypothesizes that a smart cane that alerts visually-impaired people over obstacles in front could help them in walking with less accident. The aim of the paper is to address the development work of a cane that could communicate with the users through voice alert and vibration, which is named Smart Cane.     This paper presents a new way of online communications through mobile to web that helps students and lecturers to be always aware of appointments no matter where they are. It contributes to the teaching and learning process, in which communication is made easy using short messaging system (SMS) technology which is called Web-based Student Appointment System with GSM Network (WAS-GN).It starts with examples of previous success stories of the implementation of SMS in many areas.The objectives of the paper are to discuss about the hardware and software requirement, and integrate them to be measured in terms of functionality. The research method is outlined next, and some discussions over current outcomes of the research are addressed.The prototype of WAS-GN is successfully implemented using SMS technology.Briefly, results show that WAS-GN is able to solve the appointment-making problem
